AREC 2026: Kylie Walsh Says Process is the Branding Problem

REGROWTH Founder and Director Kylie Walsh delivered a powerful and thought-provoking session at AREC 2026, challenging how industry thinks about process. She says industry usually associates with paperwork, red tape and compliance when in act it the backbone to a high-performance agency.

Speaking to a packed room of business owners, department heads and property managers, Kylie’s session, “Process & Structures,” centred on a critical message: process is no longer a back-end function, it is a leadership priority.

In a fast-evolving industry shaped by digital transformation and AI adoption, Kylie highlighted a growing disconnect between technology investment and operational clarity.

Without process, you have chaos, burnout and friction. Process is about protecting energy, creating consistency, and delivering a better client experience every single time.

Her presentation unpacked the real cost of poor process across property management businesses from lost productivity and unexecuted ideas to inconsistent client journeys and team fatigue.

Drawing on industry data and real-world insights, Kylie revealed that while many teams identify opportunities for improvement, a significant portion of these ideas are never implemented leaving performance gains untapped.

A key theme of the session was the importance of human-led AI, with Kylie emphasising that technology can only amplify what already exists.

“AI will only ever be as powerful as the process and data behind it,” Kylie explained. “If your foundations aren’t strong, technology won’t fix that it will simply scale the gaps.”

Attendees were guided through practical strategies to strengthen operational frameworks, including:

  • Identifying and eliminating key friction points across the property management lifecycle

  • Building structured processes that drive accountability, clarity, and scalability

  • Designing intentional client experiences through consistent service delivery

  • Leveraging micro-moments to improve landlord engagement and retention

  • Creating feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement and adaptation

Kylie also reinforced the importance of aligning systems and processes, noting that overcomplicated technology without clear structure can hinder productivity rather than enhance it.

Her session resonated strongly with attendees, particularly in its call for leaders to take ownership of process design rather than leaving outcomes to chance.

The question isn’t whether you need better process. The question is - where is your biggest point of friction right now, and what are you doing about it?
